Doctrine of War
Ash & Banner
A fantasy command game where you never move a soldier: you write your companies' standing orders, seal them, and watch the battle play out.
Needs a desktop browser with a keyboard and mouse. Phones and tablets aren't supported.

Thinking, not clicking
Doctrine of War rewards thinking, not clicking. Each phase you hand every company a doctrine card: a few rules read top to bottom, like “if an enemy is adjacent, brace shields”. Then you seal your orders and watch the phase unfold on a floating-island diorama, the Host moving first and your companies after, each following the first rule that fits.
Fog hides what your companies can't see. Courage and dread swing fights, and famous companies frighten their enemies. Every bit of fortune is shown, never hidden.
Two campaigns ship in 1.0. Ash & Banner (4 battles) holds the line at Greyford. Cinder Road (5 battles) carries the war back to the Host: choose which companies answer the call, rest the worn, bring veterans forward, and end at Greyford Gate against the Kept Coal. Skirmish lets you replay any battle on its own. The experimental doctrine editor lets you reorder and tune your orders, then test them across hundreds of simulated battles.
